Description
Sunrosa Roses are an exciting series from the Suntory Collection. Sunrosa Roses are beautiful, compact, bushy, and super heat and humidity tolerant that are ideal for use in smaller garden spaces and in pots and other containers. In our nursery and gardens the Sunrosa Roses have the longest flowering period of any other roses. The bloom continues almost non-stop throughout the season, even in the hottest part of summer. They need less pruning than typical shrub roses, and due to their high disease resistance, are very easy to care for.
A super heat and humidity tolerant and disease resistant rose, the Sunrosa Fragrant Pink Dwarf Shrub Rose produces an abundance of beautiful, fully double, fragrant flowers with bright pink petals all season long. In our gardens, the bushes are almost always in bloom from spring to the first frost. Disease resistance here in central Georgia has been remarkably good.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Being dwarfs, Sunrosa Roses are ideal for use as a specimen in small garden spaces or solo or combined with other plants in pots, planters and other containers. In larger landscape spaces plant them in groupings, mass plantings, on embankments, or as a border along walks and pathways for stunning floral displays and vibrant splashes of season-long color. The Sunrosa Roses are ones that we don’t hesitate to recommend for use in home foundation plantings.
Suggested Spacing: 18 to 24 inches apart for mass plantings; 4 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 5a, where this Sunrosa Rose variety is not winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Requirements
Drift Roses are exceptionally easy to grow in average, well-drained soils with medium moisture in full sun to part shade. As with all other roses, the Drift roses require morning sun to dry the morning dew from their leaves, which prevents powdery mildew from forming on the leaves. Some afternoon shade or filtered sun is fine. We suggest 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for best flowering. Drift Roses do not require pruning, however, they do benefit from it. We cut our Drift Roses back to about 4 to 6 inches above the ground before new growth begins to emerge in late winter or very early spring. Plants will quickly flush out and start blooming with the arrival of spring temperatures. Deadheading spent flowers is not necessary however will encourage more new buds and flowers.
